When Tea is also Coffee

When Tea is also Coffee

We’d like to introduce you to one of our favorite things, Coffee Cherry Tea, in a gift set. It’s also called cascara in Latin American countries and qishr in parts of Africa and Yemen (where it originated.) It’s a delicious beverage that’s been around since at least the 1500s that’s made from the dried fruit of a coffee plant. Our set includes two of the highest quality coffee cherry teas you can find and it’s something that even coffee and tea enthusiasts may not have tried.

Cascara Tea

Is it coffee or tea?

Technically, both. But, even though it’s made from coffee fruit. It’s a tea in every other way. You steep it in water and it has a light, refreshing body to it, just like tea. It doesn’t taste like coffee.

How does it taste?

Like any good coffee or wine, slightly different depending on where and how it was cultivated. Our gift set includes two contrasting teas. In general, it’s refreshing, slightly sweet, with notes of dried fruit.

Cascara Tea

Is it caffienated?

Yes, coffee cherry tea naturally includes caffeine, but only about a fifth of what you’d find in coffee.

Cascara Tea Gift Set

What’s included?

Our gift set has two bags of tea from two award winning farms in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, a tea infuser, and brew instructions. Everything you need to make between 15-20 cups of tea.

We’re shipping an incredible Brazilian coffee to Coffee World Tour members for the month of December from our friends at Sitio Sao Benedito. It’s incredibly versatile with a full body and notes of peanut butter and jelly, a typical trait for dry processed Brazilian coffees.
